The goal with this series of books is to provide a complete and comprehensive history of the commercial terrestrial radio industry from the mid 1970’s to 2004.
Volume One and Volume Two will provide the statistical groundwork for the theses, conclusions, and predictions which will be offered in Volume Three.
Volume Three will be a prose and focus on the Radio Industry as a whole and where it is going in the future
Volume One serves to you millions of statistics about commercial radio in over 150 individual radio markets. The data is structured and ordered in a manner which allows you to compare and contrast the historical events in each market covering a thirty-year period.
A CD with the market data in PDF format is available with the book.
Volume Two (The Nation) will consolidate the data from Volume One and add additional data to create a portrayal of NATIONAL radio trends in revenues, ratings, programming, ownership, radio usage, and more.
This 280 page volume will be published in July 2005.
Volume Three will be a prose book which includes Jim Duncan’s analysis and history of the radio industry covering the years 1975 to 2005 and his thoughts and predictions for the future of radio. This book will also feature 15 essays about radio from some of the industry’s most thoughtful and knowledgeable observers.
This 325 page volume will be published in early 2006.
